As an Optometrist specializing in Dry Eye and Ocular Surface disease for the past 10+ years, I noticed a trend: my patients would often ask me about eye makeup, skincare that is safe for the eyes, or even come into my clinic with false lashes and other Ocular modifications that only caused to exacerbate Dry Eye and otherwise harm their eyelids and Ocular Surface.

Furthermore, the more I treated contact dermatitis around the eyes, blepharitis, and Dry Eyes from Lash serums and Extensions, the more I saw the need for Eye Safe Beauty!

I've enlisted the help of incredible "Esty's" to help me accomplish this goal. At Visionary Esthetics, we offer facials and eye/beauty treatments in a medical environment and with EYE SAFETY as well as beauty in mind. My Licensed Estheticians offer everything you'd find at a traditional spa, but they're specially trained to work around the eye and to be mindful of eye and ocular surface safety.

Kathryn is the Medical Esthetician at Visionary Esthetics. Starting at a young age, she grew very passionate about skin care. Struggling with acne, sparked her interest in skin and skin improvement. For years she worked with various products and routines trying to achieve clear and healthy skin. With a degree in Public Health, Kathryn is a East Carolina University alumni, class of 2022. Shortly after college, she decided to turn her passion into a career, attending Esthetician school. Kathryn is constantly learning how to better help her clients. She believes it is important to educate clients on their skin care needs, and how those needs can be tackled in treatment and at home. Kathryn is looking forward to continuing her education to curate the best care and education to all clients. Kathryn is a local, who grew up in Salisbury. In her free time, she loves spending time with friends on the lake, traveling, and playing with her Boston Terrier, Chanel.

Josette Giuffrida, DNP, FNP-C, is a dedicated healthcare professional with over 25 years of experience, including 21 years as a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. As the owner of REFRESH Medical Spa & Wellness, Josette combines her extensive primary care expertise with a passion for medical aesthetics, offering personalized care to each client. Her background in treating chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, positions her as a well-rounded and compassionate practitioner.

With over 15 years of experience in the medical spa field, Josette is committed to staying at the forefront of the industry. She continually updates her knowledge through advanced training in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, anti-aging treatments, and preventive health guidelines. Her dedication to excellence is evident in the quality-driven, patient-focused care she provides, whether through in-person consultations or virtual telemedicine visits. Josette’s ability to grasp and apply new concepts quickly, combined with her proficiency in modern healthcare technologies, ensures that her patients receive the most up-to-date and effective treatments.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Josette enjoys all outdoor activities and values spending quality time with her husband, Anthony, and their two dogs. Her commitment to improving patient well-being and enhancing confidence through both medical and aesthetic treatments continues to drive her in her ongoing journey of providing exceptional care.
